Principal Duties:
- Help maintain the structure of E.L.I.’s House by assisting Guests through pre-planned night and morning routines.
- Oversee morning room checks and assist with other guest room checks and/or searches.
- Provides close supervision of Guests in accordance with policy and procedure; including room checks and documentations of each resident
- Oversees self-administered medications as needed and according to strict guidelines
- Monitor Guests for changes in behavior that may indicate potential crisis situations in accordance with facility guidelines and alerts the Women’s Program Coordinator and/or staff as appropriate.
- Intervenes, when necessary, in crisis situations in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines. Submits information to the Women’s Program Coordinator on the more serious disciplinary actions and in accordance with facility policy/procedures.
- Respond to Guests who are in distress in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress.
- Applies de-escalation techniques to help manage Guest’s emotions and behavior.
- Reports all observances of unusual behaviors or Guest’s physical and mental health to the Women’s Programming Coordinator.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment by conducting walk-throughs, promptly reporting security or maintenance issues and carrying out cleaning duties as assigned.
- Taking inventory nightly of household supplies and keeping supply closets organized and well maintained.
- Open packages and place in proper place
- Perform administrative tasks to assist daytime staff
- Welcome all guests and volunteers when the Volunteer Coordinator is not on property. Guide them to the right place as needed
- Write thank you or special notes to volunteers and donors on behalf of E.L.I.’s House
- Conduct searches of all residents and their belongings each time they enter the facility.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Women’s Programming and/or other staff members
- Coordinate weekend and special activities.
- Administer urine drug screens
- Oversees animal care meticulously
- Maintain guest confidentiality and high ethical standards.
Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities within the house are conducted within the guidelines and regulation of Federal HIPAA requirements.
- Attends trauma informed care training.
Reports to: Family Support Specialist
Qualifications:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, Biblical Counseling certification preferred
- Knowledge of the Department of Child Services policies and procedures.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of applicable experience
- Experience working with women and minor children with domestic violence, sex trafficking, drug addiction and various trauma is preferred.
- Experience in crisis prevention, intervention, and conflict resolution skills
